Hi
– I'm Irving, the REAL talking dog! In August of
1995 I was born in Ridgetop Tennessee. My father is a
retired show dog as well as a retired stud (although not
his choice). I am a black and white Boston Terrier. I
met comedian/ventriloquist Todd Oliver when I was about
six weeks old and thought he had a lot of potential. Right
away he noticed that I had "personality". He
says that I had this look that made everyone laugh. (He's
the funny lookin' one if you ask me.)
Immediately I began going to work with him every night
on the "General Jackson Showboat", at Opryland
USA where he was appearing in the evening Revue show.
For the next 11 months I sat in my travel carrier behind
the curtain listening to the sounds and sights of the
orchestra, cast and crew. But most importantly, the
sound of the audience laughing! I couldn't wait for
my opportunity to get in front of an audience.
After nearly a year, I made my debut in Nashville and,
if I say so myself, stole the show (as well as one of
the dancers shoes)! You would think the audience had
never seen a real talking dog!
Since my debut, I have spent a year on tour, did some
great children's shows and performed in a concert with
Kenny Rogers. I love seeing my name in lights.
I consider myself quite proficient at napping, I have
been known to take 25-30 naps a day! I work hard, play
hard and nap hard.
I am pretty much over being "just a dog",
eating the same lame food everyday, being told when
to sit, stay and heel. I love the fact that I can tell
the world exactly how I feel every night when I come
out on stage. I go through my routine, throw a few witty
insults at Todd Oliver and sing, "I Left My Heart
In San Francisco".

Meet
Lucy the only dog in the world to out talk Irving. She
talks so much she was kicked out of obedience school.....for
TALKING BACK!
If you ask her if she can have children,
she'll say "no stupid, can you have puppies?".
She claims she gets treated like Royalty, because everywhere
she goes someone follows her around with a plastic bag
on their hand. Somebody once asked her why she chases
the mailman, her answer was "because he never brings
ME ANYTHING! When asked what's the difference between
boy dogs and girl dogs she replied "after what
they did to me at the vet NOT MUCH!
Lucy is very talented. Everytime she
wags her tail the band starts to play her favorite song.
When asked why she chews up shoes, she said because
they taste better than dogfood, and theres only one
thing worse than dogfood, DIET DOG FOOD...but how did
she learn to talk?....she bit an english teacher! |
